NORTON CAR WASH
Over the years, we have been asked many questions...
regarding the care and conditioning of vehicle finishes.
Below are responses to the most often asked questions.

When It's More Than Dirt!

Pine sap, tar, oil, bird droppings and other materials should be removed as soon as notice.  Don't wait until the next car wash!  A soft cloth and the appropriate cleaning agents -- all attainable at the automotive and discount stores -- should be used.  A car wash removes surface dirt and grime.

Wheels and white wall tires can be kept clean by applying the approriate cleaning products prior to entering the car wash.  High pressure will work wih your cleaning agent.  We recommend our Laserwash Undercarriage to enhance cleaning your wheels.

What's The Secret To Keeping A Shine?

The best way to keep a good car finish is to treat it like skin!  Today's finishes are clear-coated to bring up the luster of the metallic paint.  That's the good news! The bad news is that it takes very little to scratch this near perfect finish.  Even road dust can cause a scratch as you start to wash you car.  For this reason, it's important when washing your our car to first completely hose down the entire car from top down... and then keep the car wet where you wash.

One final caution... and many a home-washer has felt this pain:  Never use the same cloth or sponge to clean the rocker panels or bumpers as you do to clean the top of the rest of the surfaces.  You cannot rinse a sponges enough on a Saturday morning to rid it of all the grit.  In no time, sponges become sandpaper to a clear coated vehicle.

At Walpole Car Wash, we apply two complete revolutions of soap to the entire car... and then let it soak while the lifting action of the soap separates the dirt from the vehicle.  This soaking period is seasonally adjusted to assure that
the dirt is free from the surface before we proceed with the high pressure.

Touchless Means Scratchless... Period!

Living Better with the Responsible Chemistry

As we all learn... there are soaps and then there are soaps.  Marketing may get you to buy a soap once, but its cleaning power makes you buy it a second time. So, with WCW.  We continuously both evaluate soaps and monitor the amount applied, because the amount that's good for your finish in the winter is not the same that is needed to remove sun-baked grime in the summer.

Our High Pressure Rinse Removes All Debris

There are four processes to touchless car washing:
1.  Applying the right kind and amount of soap to "lift" the dirt 'n grime.
2.  Providing a proper soak time to allow the soap to work its magic.
2.  Rinsing that soap and dirt/grime off the vehicle with pressure.
3.  Final rinsing with de-mineralized water for a Spot-Free Wash.
